“I’ll tell you the saddest discovery of my life: The victims are no better than their oppressors. I can easily imagine the roles reversed. You can call it a kind of alibi-ism, and attempt to evade responsibility and to blame everything on the Creator Who made man the way he is. And maybe it’s a good thing that you see things that way. Because to come to the conclusion that there is no difference between the guilty and their victims is to reach a state where you abandon all hope. And that, my dear, is a definition of hell” —The Farewell Party-Kundera

If a guy wants to win the heart of a girl

All he has to do is treat her as though there is no one else in the world like her. Give her the time of day. Be sweet to her. Be cute.

Thats it. It’s that simple. Looks don’t matter. Personality is everything.

dead on.

Yup it’s the truth.

romantic mumbo jumbo. this is not true at all :-)

How NOT to Overeat on Thanksgiving:

Drink Water. Before having your main meal, drink two to three glasses of water. It will occupy some space in your stomach and will help you to eat less.

Nothing like the fresh salad. Salad is a nutritious way to control your appetite and help you feel full.

Have a small meal before going to the Thanksgiving dinner. If you starve yourself before a Thanksgiving meal, then you are going to eat more food and that means more calories. Have a light breakfast and/or lunch so that you aren’t ravenous and will not overeat.

Go for the roasted turkey. Enjoy the turkey breast, which has limited calories. Deep fried turkey is full of calories, so go for healthy roasted or baked turkeys.

Savor the fresh cranberry sauce. Cranberry sauce has always been a part of Thanksgiving meals but the canned sauce has a lot of sugar, which means more calories. Instead of going for canned, choose fresh cranberry sauce.

Do not forget to exercise. Exercise will burn the extra calories you’ve consumed, as well as help you to digest the heavy meals since it activates the metabolic system. Go for a walk after the Thanksgiving meal.

Downsize your portions — and forget seconds. The greatest enjoyment of a food comes from the first two or three forkfuls. A good place to splurge: the foods you only eat at holidays.

Prolong your pleasure. Eat slowly, put your fork down between bites, engage in conversation and sip your beverage.

Make a point of signaling the end of your meal. When you’ve finished, have a mint or piece of gum to clear the taste of food from your mouth — it’ll make post-meal nibbling less appealing.

I don’t know who wrote this… But I know I will not be following any of these rules and will be stuffing my face until I am sick on Thursday. It only comes once a year and I am thankful for the amazing meal that will be put on my table!
